"Kreativ Atelier": A Summer of Creativity and Expression!

123

This summer, the children supported by the Fondation Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf transformed their emotions, dreams and stories into unique works of art. Through art-assisted education, they were able to explore a caring and supportive creative space over the course of two months, where every colour, shape and material became a language.

A therapeutic and creative setting

Art-assisted education plays an essential role in supporting the children and young people at the Fondation. It offers them a means of expression that goes beyond words, allowing them to visually translate what they are feeling and give shape to their experiences.

During the summer holidays, this support was intensified through regular workshops led by trained professionals. Paintings, drawings, collages and three-dimensional creations became part of their daily lives, offering each child a special moment to reconnect with themselves, express their feelings and discover more about who they are.

Works of art born from a summer of emotions

The works presented here are the result of this summer’s artistic activities. Through their creations, the children explored themes that are close to their hearts: nature, family, home, memories, as well as their hopes and dreams for the future. Each work tells a story—the story of a child learning to transform their emotions into beauty.

Some pieces convey the joy of sunny days, while others evoke the warmth and comfort of a reunited home. Still others express more intimate feelings, shaped by life journeys that can sometimes be complex. Together, they form a vibrant and colourful gallery, reflecting the inner richness of the children at the Kannerduerf.

Art as a tool for resilience

Beyond their aesthetic value, these works demonstrate the power of art as a tool for resilience. Through the creative process, children learn to better understand their emotions, build self-confidence and gradually develop a sense of inner balance.

Art-assisted education also helps strengthen social connections and foster integration within the group. Each creation thus becomes a bridge between the child and others—a silent yet profound form of sharing.
