Give Lucas a space to express himself

EVERY START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IS AN ADVENTURE.

AND EVERY ADVENTURE BEGINS WITH AN EMOTION.

LUCAS* IS LIKE MANY CHILDREN: STARTING A NEW SCHOOL YEAR MAKES HIM A LITTLE ANXIOUS. THIS YEAR, EVEN MORE SO, BECAUSE HE IS STARTING SECONDARY SCHOOL.

A new building, new classmates, new teachers … The transition from primary school to secondary school brings many changes. Finding the words to describe how he feels is not always easy for Lucas. 

Lucas is a young boy supported by the Fondation Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf. He regularly takes part in the artistic activities offered to him.
What does he like best? Drawing.  
With a pencil in his hand, Lucas has discovered a new way to express himself. When words fail him, the colours, shapes and characters he draws tell the story of how he feels. Little by little, the fears he used to keep to himself take shape on paper.

They become easier to understand and communicate. Gradually, Lucas shares more of his emotions, gains confidence and learns that he does not have to keep everything to himself.

Like Lucas, many children supported by the Fondation Lëtzebuerger Kannerduerf are discovering new ways to express their emotions and build self-confidence, thanks to your support.

That is why we develop artistic and creative projects that give them a space to express themselves, be listened to and grow as individuals.

€ 40 – can provide drawing materials that help a child give shape to their emotions.

€ 80 – can fund one hour of a music workshop with a specialised educator.

€ 110 – can enable several children to take part in a collaborative art project led by a professional artist.

THIS SCHOOL YEAR, CHILDREN LIKE LUCAS NEED THESE MOMENTS TO GROW UP WITH GREATER PEACE OF MIND AND CONFIDENCE.
